In 1903 Yūseki authored a two-volume, woodblock-printed book of sketches of rare and exotic flowers and plants exhibited at the 5th National Industrial Exposition in Japan. These100 plant pictures are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. The plants were drawn and colored accurately but many of the names given by Yūseki are no longer used. Consequently, their identification is difficult. The book’s titile was Chinka Zufu (Picture Book of Rare Flowers).
